Missouri State’s softball team took a 10-7 victory Tuesday over the University of Central Arkansas in a game at Farris Field in which the teams combined for 19 hits and six home runs.
Hayley Parker had two home runs for UCA.
Ciara Clampitt (2-7) took the loss for Central Arkansas (10-16). Chelsea Jones (5-3), who split time between the designated player and pitcher positions, earned the win in relief for Missouri State (13-7).
Central Arkansas hits the field again on Thursday, hosting Memphis at 5 p.m. The Bears will then host Stephen F. Austin in a three-game series Saturday and Sunday.
The Hendrix baseball team defeated Ecclesia on Tuesday for the third straight win for the Warriors (8-7).
The Hendrix College baseball team defeated Ecclesia College 7-2 at Warrior Field for the Warriors’ (8-7) third consecutive win.
Freshmen Colten Poellinger and Billy Lovvorn, senior Justin Mosbey and sophomore Daniel Imbro each threw two innings of scoreless relief. Lovvorn (1-1), who fanned one batter, earned the win.
Ryan Ritz went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Collin Radack had a double, triple and two runs scored. Brady Newville and freshman James Martin also had two hits apiece.
Hendrix will return to Southern Athletic Association play at Birmingham-Southern College on Friday night.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. — University of Central Arkansas’ Sarah Brown tied for fifth and Kendra Mann tied for eighth on Tuesday at the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Invitational at Hattiesburg Country Club.
Brown, a sophomore from Mount Pleasant, Texas, shot rounds of 75-76 for a 151. Mann, a junior from Harrah, Okla., shot 71-81-152. Junior Malin Senneryd tied for 48th (82-81-163), while sophomore Frida Svensson tied for 52nd (83-81-164). Senior Carly Dear tied for 59th (80-87-167).
Host Southern Miss own the tournament at 608, followed by Memphis (611), South Alabama (614), Houston Baptist (617), Murray State (621), UL Monroe (625), UCA (627), UAB (642), Stephen F. Austin and Western Kentucky (645), New Orleans (646), Texas-Pan American (648) and Jackson State (708).

UCA’s Krizia Buck maintaining her singles winning streak to nine matches and preserved her seven-match doubles win streak with Simona Horsikyan.
SFA upped its record to 5-5, 2-0 SLC while UCA fell to 7-5, 0-2.
Central Arkansas has road matches this weekend against Southeastern Louisiana and New Orleans.
BARTLETT, Tenn. — The Hendrix College women’s golf team opened the spring season at the Christian Brothers University Spring Invitational at Quail Ridge Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.
The Warriors only had two compete in the event. Sophomore Sydney King shot a 109-88-197 to tie for 30th on the par-71 course. King’s 88 strokes was a personal best.
Junior Kelsi McClure shot a 101-97-198, tying for 31st.
