Bears have easy time in softball sweep of UAPB

The University of Central Arkansas coasted to a softball doubleheader sweep Wednesday over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 10-2 and 16-2, at Farris Field.

Sarah Begej, Taylor Dear and Ashley Boswell all had two hits in game one with Begej and Boswell hitting home runs. Ciera Clampitt (2-3) struck out eight and allowed two hits in gaining the victory.

Jessie Taylor was 2 for 2 with a home run and five RBI in the 12-hit attack in the second game. Lauren Cruse  had two hits and Bailey Renolds had a home run and three RBI.

Kelsie Barker (1-0) allowed five hits in the victory.
