Tyler Langley has big day in UCA baseball victory

ABILENE, Texas — The University of Central Arkansas Bears (2-3) pounded out 12 hits, three from Conway's Tyler Langley, and held off the Abilene Christian Wildcats, 6-4, in non-conference baseball action on Friday at Crutcher Scott Field.


UCA starter Bryce Biggerstaff threw 6.2 innings, striking out six and allowing three earned runs. Chris Caudle went 1.1 innings of scoreless relief and Ben Ancheff pitched the ninth for his second save.

 

 Langley, who went 3 for 5 with two RBI, had a run-scoring double in the seventh against the Wildcats (3-1).



Doug Votolato, Nick Ferrell and Scott Zimmerle all had two hits for the Bears.


UCA will face New Jersey Institute of Technology at 11 a.m. on Saturday and again on Sunday.
