Michigan State coordinator wins Broyles Award

LITTLE ROCK — Pat Narduzzi, the defensive coordinator at Big Ten champion Michigan State, was named Tuesday as the 2013 Broyles Award winner as the outstanding assistant college football coach in America.

Narduzzi helped lead the Spartans to a victory over Ohio State in the Big 10 title game and a Rose Bowl berth.

He is the second straight defensive coordinator to win the award.

Other finalists were: Rhett Lashslee, offensive coordinator, Auburn; Phillip Montgomery, offensive coordinator, Baylor; Kurt Roper, offensive coordinator, Duke; Jeremy Pruitt, defensive coordinator, Florida State.
