Conway High’s volleyball team won its 21st match of the season Tuesday with a 25-17, 25-17, 25-18 victory over Mount St. Mary.
Allison Weatherly had 12 kills for the Lady Cats (21-5, 11-3). Alexa Hreha added 10 kills. Sara Nethercutt had 33 assists and three aces. Rachel Skinner had 17 digs.
In JV play, Conway won 25-12, 25-23.
Mackenzie Dear had 15 kills and 11 digs for Conway ((15-2, 12-2). Sydney Trickett had two aces. Jacklyn Quinit had 13 digs and Morgan Mourot 17 assists.
UCA MEN’S GOLF
CHOUDRANT, La. — The University of Central Arkansas Bears finished fourth at the Louisiana Tech Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Squire Creek Country Club.
UCA shot 294-292-290 for an 876 total. Southern Mississippi was first at 867, followed by Southeastern Louisiana (871), Louisiana Tech (874), UCA, McNeese State (878), North Texas (879), Missouri State (889), Stephen F. Austin and UALR (897), New Orleans (902), Nicholls State (908) and Houston Baptist (922).
UCA sophomore James Newton tied for fourth place individually, shooting 72-69-72-213. Junior Pep Angles was seventh (73-72-70-215), while senior Richard Farmer tied for 23rd (75-73-75-223). Freshman James Steven tied for 38th (74-78-76-228) and freshman Ryan Shuttleworth tied for 51nd (76-83-73232). Sophomore Wes Harris, playing as an individual, shot 84-78-73-235 and tied for 57th.
SHERWOOD — Hendrix’s golf teams wrapped up their fall seasons at the University of Arkansas-Monticello Deltic Timber/Commercial Bank Fall Classic at The Greens at North Hills on Monday and Tuesday.
The Hendrix men finished seventh with a 235-348-673.
Freshman Kevin Austrian led Hendrix with a 77-83-160, tying for 18th. Junior John Weirich tied for 22nd with an 81-81-162 and senior Travis Weeks was 39th with an 85-86-171. Freshman Greg Lanese took 42nd with an 101-98-199. Junior Cory Ziegler shot an 82 in the first round, but withdrew on Tuesday.
Rogers State won the tournament with a two-round score of 615. They were followed by Ouachita Baptist (617), Missouri Southern (619), Southern Arkansas (620), UAM (635), Northwestern Oklahoma (647) and Hendrix (673).
The Hendrix women did not field a full team. Junior Kelsi McClure shot a 99-110-209, placing 28th. Sophomore Trilby Gibson shot a 136 in the first round, before having to withdraw on Tuesday.
Rogers State won the event with a team score of 682.
