Jenna Smart, formerly of Missouri Southern, has joined the staff of University of Central Arkansas coach David Kuhn's softball staff as pitching coach.
In her lone season at Missouri Southern, the Lions went 26-24 with a team ERA of 3.35, a noticeable improvement over their 16-35 finish and 6.16 team ERA in 2012.
Prior to joining the staff at MSSU, Smart spent three seasons at Iowa Central Community College working with the pitching staff and serving as the recruiting coordinator. In 2010, Smart’s first season with the program, the Tritons finished 55-10 and set a team record with an ERA of just 1.59. In 2011, the Tritons went 45-13 with a 2.88 ERA, and in 2012, ICCC finished 51-9 with a team ERA of 1.89.
Smart began her college coaching career at her alma mater, Delta State, serving as a graduate assistant under a pair of head coaches, including Kuhn.
