Four true freshmen will play in the University of Central Arkansas' season football opener Thursday night against the University of Incarnate Word, coach Clint Conque said at Monday's weekly Bearbacker luncheon.
The rookies who have been put on the fast track in the regular rotation are wide receiver Jatavious Wilson, offensive lineman Bryan Manley and defensive linemen Terence Partee and Jordan Tolliver.
Conque told Bearbackers that he has been very pleased with the Bears' new recruits.
"Every scholarship player we signed not only has a future but an exciting future at the university and I couldn't always say that," Conque said.
The Bears play Incarnate Word, a future Southland Conference member, at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.
