MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama defeated the University of Central Arkansas, 7-4, Sunday on the final day of the Mardi Gras Invitational.
UCA (5-5) finished the tourney 1-3 after defeating Ole Miss in the opening game.
Melissa Bryant was 3 for 3 for the Bears. Melanie, her sister was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI. UCA had nine hits and committed two errors.
The host Jaguars upped their record to 7-1.
Kelsie Armstrong (3-4) gave up eight hits and seven runs in taking the loss.
The Bears play at Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday before hosting their tournament this weekend.
