The Hendrix College men’s lacrosse team dropped its 2013 opener 13-6 to Southwestern University at Warrior Field on Saturday night.
The visiting Pirates (2-0) outshot the Warriors (0-1) 27-20, and held a 54-48 ground ball advantage. Hendrix turnovers, compared to 36 by Southwestern.
Cameron Millstone led the Warriors with a career-high five goals to go with 12 ground balls. He was also 10-of-16 on faceoff attempts. Senior defenseman Robert McCarthy picked up seven ground balls and tied his career-best with four caused turnovers. Freshman keeper Joe Tackacs registered six saves and seven ground balls.
