CBC Homecoming events planned for Feb. 15 and 16

SPECIAL TO THE LOG CABIN

Central Baptist College will host its annual homecoming activities on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15-16.

Events will begin on Friday evening with a tailgating event from 4:30-6 p.m. with hamburgers and hot dogs provided by Metropolitan National Bank. The first 100 attendees will receive a black T-shirt. The event is free to all alumni, students and friends.

“Black Out Game Night” is at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. as the Lady Mustangs and Mustangs taking on Haskell Indian Nations College at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse.

On Saturday, activities begin at 9 a.m. with the Half Century Club Inductions in the Mitchell Lecture Hall of the Watkins Academic Building followed by “Where were you from ’62-‘72” class reunion at 10 a.m.

The CBC Alumni Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the dining hall of the Mabee Student Service Building. This year’s speaker is CBC alumnus Judy Wallace. Awards will be given in recognition of Kenneth Brown as recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year and Maria Edwards as the recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumnus of the Year.

At 2 p.m., all graduates from 2007-2012 will unite in the Mitchell Lecture Hall in the Watkins Academic Building for a Young Alumni reunion.

The highlight of the day begins in Reddom Fieldhouse at 3 p.m. with the Lady Mustangs taking on Central Christian College, opening with the National Anthem performed by the CBC Choir led by Jim Turner. The 2013 Homecoming Court will be announced after the women’s game and will be followed by the Mustangs taking on Central Christian College.
