WILMINGTON, Ohio - Saint Vincent defeated the Hendrix College women, 76-65, to open the Fred Raizk Memorial Basketball Tournament hosted by Wilmington College on Saturday night. The Warriors (0-4) shot 41 percent (20-of-49) from the field and 40 percent (6-of-15) from three-point range. They also went 15-of-26 from the free throw line. Saint Vincent (2-1) shot 40 percent (27-of-68) from the field, 30 percent (6-of-18) from outside and went 16-of-27 at the line. Hendrix had a 45-38 rebound advantage but SVC only turned the ball over nine times, compared to 24 for the Warriors.Jamie Tate led Hendrix with 14 points and a tournament record 16 rebounds to go with two steals. Freshman guard Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler scored 13 points, hitting three 3-pointers and junior forward Katie Coughran came off the bench to score nine points, grab five boards and block two shots.Hendrix will face the University of Cincinnati Clermont College in the consolation game at noon on Sunday.
