EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Despite the University of Central Arkansas' 20 shots , Evansville shut out the Bears, 1-0, in men's soccer Saturday.
The Bears (7-7-0, 1-3-0 MVC) managed to put only two of those on goal. They were led offensively by Conway's Taylor Hart, who placed one of his six shots on goal. “Taylor was very dangerous early on,” said coach Ross Duncan. “He got behind them and created some really dangerous chances."
Evansville (9-5-0, 3-1-0 MVC) scored the only goal of the day in the 36th minute, as Alex Kapsalis slid a ball through the Central Arkansas back line and Jesse Sharp put it away from 5 yards out. The Aces took 15 other shots on the day, six of which were on frame.
In goal for the Bears, Cody Gibson made six saves and allowed one goal.
The Bears return home at Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Saturday against SIU-Edwardsville on Senior Day.
