The Hendrix College volleyball team swept Sewanee – The University of the South 25-20, 25-17, 25-19 at Grove Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
The win moves the Warriors to 7-11 overall and 3-4 in the Southern Athletic Association, while the Tigers fall to 8-7 and 2-5. Hendrix set the tone early, connecting on 20 kills and hitting .347 in the first set. Senior middle blocker Melissa Clement recorded 10 of her match-high 21 kills in the opening frame.
With her 21 kills, Clement had .541 and three block assists. Junior outside hitter Katie Burchfield had nine kills and hit .364 with 18 digs. Sophomore Carson Hunter had seven kills and junior setter Zoe Calhoun recorded 34 assists. Freshman libero Jill Sikes led all players with 20 digs and sophomore Ella Concavage-Nasar registered 12 digs and had a career-high four aces.
