In Saturday's 42-20 victory over Murray State, the University of Central Arkansas Bears rushed for a net of 30 yards on 29 attempts.
They have rushed for a net of 130 in their first two games — against Ole Miss and Murray State.
UCA coach Clint Conque knows improvement is needed.
"Our running game was anemic and it's a concern," Conque said at Monday's weekly Bearbacker luncheon. "Some of it may be personnel; some may be attitude; different things. We know to be what we want to bne, we've got to present an efficient running game.
"I don't mean being Texas of the 1960s, but effective. We have too many talented running backs to not present a good running game. We know to be effective, we can't be one-dimensional."
The Bears (2-0) play their home opener Saturday night against Bacone College, an NAIA team from Muskogee, Okla.
