DELAND, Fla. — The Central Arkansas volleyball team took straight set victories from Wofford and Florida Atlantic on Saturday to run its record to 7-0. In their first match of the day against Wofford, the Sugar Bears won, 25-23, 25-23, 25-18. Taylor Hammonds hit .400 on her way to seven kills. Jessica Hays led Central Arkansas in kills with 17, hitting .303 while also contributing a service ace and 13 digs. Scout Brooks also chipped in with 10 kills on a .280 hitting percentage. The Sugar Bears beat Florida Atlantic 25-16, 29-27, 25-11. Hays who hit .455 with six kills. Hammonds added nine kills and four blocks and Heather Schnars added eight kills and eight digs. Collins collected 29 assists, six digs and two kills. The Sugar Bears return to the court on Thursday, hosting Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Conway in the Sugar Bear Classic. They then face Jackson State and South Dakota on Saturday before closing out the tournament against Jacksonville State on Sunday.
