The University of Central Arkansas Bears overcame an early 5-1 deficit Saturday night to record an 8-6 victory over the Northwestern State Demons in Southland Conference play at Bear Stadium.
The Bears (19-22, 13-12) scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, then added two more for good measure in the sixth to give junior lefthander Jeffery Enloe his team-high fifth victory of the season. Enloe struggled early but ended up going seven innings, throwing 123 pitches and striking out eight.
Senior Andy Steinmetz pitched the final two innings and picked up UCA’s first save of the season.
