MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Hendrix's David Spriewald, from Marburg, Germany, had second-best javelin throw in program history with a mark of 49.49 meters (162 ft.-4 in.), placing seventh at the Rhodes College Open track and field meet Saturday.
He also placed 15th in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.91 seconds and was 38th in the 400 meters in 53.95 seconds.
Elizabeth Krug, of Heber Springs, Ark., placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 35.62 meters (116 ft.-10 in.). She also placed 15th in the 100 hurdles in 16.26 seconds, 17th in the 200 in 26.97 seconds and 20th in the 100 meter dash in 13.14 seconds.The Warriors will return to Memphis next Saturday to compete in the Rhodes Invitational.
