Softball signing

Greenbrier’s Brittany Merritt has joined the Williams Baptist College softball program. She was a four-year letter-winner in softball and was twice voted all-conference. She was a member of Greenbrier’s 5A state championship team two years ago and was voted the team’s best infielder last season. She will be joining a Lady Eagle squad that is ranked 18th in the NAIA and has won a share of the last two regular season American Midwest Conference championships. “We believe it takes a special person on and off the field to compete for Williams Baptist College; Brittany fits that mold perfectly,” said Williams coach Eric Newell. Merritt is a daughter of Heath Merritt and Danielle Meek of Greenbrier. SUBMITTED PHOTO
