Conway White clinched the girls Central Arkansas Junior Conference championship Monday with a 53-32 victory over Benton.
Jordan Danberry had 22 points, Kianna Speight had 13, Christin Rogers had seven and Megan Goodnight had 5, Asia Willard, Hailey Estes, and Hannah Ingraham all had two points.
The White team, 21-0, will play its last home game at 6 p.m. Thursday at Buzz Bolding Arena.
BOYS BOYS CONWAY WHITE
Behind 16 points by Adrian Moore, Conway White team boys defeated Benton, 43-32, in ninth-grade basketball Monday night. Jaqarius Stewart added nine points.
Conway White is 16-3, 5-2 in conference.
CCS JUNIOR HIGH
Conway Christian’s junior boys won their sixth straight game Monday night, 35-31, over Morrilton Sacred Heart.
The Eagles (11-8, 3-2) rallied after being down, 17-3, in the first quarter and Sacred Heart made five 3-pointers, then only one the rest of the game.
John Nekonchuk led the Eagles with 19 points, nine rebonds and six blocks. Josiah Smith had 13 points and five steals. Luke Bekcman had six assists. Jonmark Wood had five rebounds.
“We responded well to early adversity, didn’t get down, decided to play defense and rebound (holding Sacred Heart to three offensive rebounds on the night) after the first four minutes,” said coach Shane Davis.
CCS’s seventh-grade boys defeated Sacred Heart, 32-30, in two overtimes for their fifth straight victory. Seth Smith scored 12 points while Will Jackson added six. Bennett Pascoe hit a game-winning jump shot in the second overtime.
In earlier action, CCS defeated Abundant Life’s seventh-graders, 25-19. Smith had seven points, Pascoe and Whit Parker six and Robbie Hogue five.
In eighth-grade action, CCS defeated Abundant Life, 37-33, in two overtimes. Aaron Griffin had 18 points, Will Callaway eight and Jacob Henry five.
FAULKNER COUNTY FALCONS
The Faulkner County Falcons defeated the Pulaski County Flames, 58-27, Monday night in homeschool basketball at Central Baptist College. Daniel McNair led the team in scoring with 13 points. Hadan Phillips had 12 and Isaac Stanton and Trent Wolf had 11 points each. Jehu Besley added six points and Mark Baker five.
The Falcons host the Faith Crusaders of Fort Smith on team recognition night Friday at the Greenbrier Sports Center.
