Arkansas United Soldiers faring well

The Arkansas United Soldiers 14U basketball team, which has members from Conway, three of them who have played for coach Kendrick Alexander since age 6, are 15-2 during the summer season and have placed high in several tournaments. Kahn Cotton is head coach of the team. The Soldiers went 3-1 in Nike Next Level Tournament in Dallas, losing to the Houston Hoops, the fourth-ranked AAU team in the country. The team then went 5-0 in winning the AAU 14U state title. The Soldiers also won the 16U division of the Deborah Loring Tournament of Champions in Little Rock and the 14U division in the Super 60 tournament in New Orleans with four straight wins after losing the first game. UCA’s Anderson SLC’s Student-Athlete of the Year

University of Central Arkansas junior volleyball player Samantha Anderson has been named the Southern Conference’s Student-Athlete of the Year, while senior Megan Nash earned First Team all-conference honors and sophomore Elizabeth Armstrong was named to the Second Team.
