Sugar Bears romp past Huskies

HOUSTON — The University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears (10-4, 2-2) got a double-barreled scoring effort from Maggie Proffitt and Kierra Jordan on Wednesday afternoon on the way to a 80-49 romp over Houston Baptist (3-12, 1-4).

 

Proffitt, a senior guard, scored 26 points, including five of nine from 3-point range. She moved to No. 2 on the all-time Sugar Bear career scoring list behind Megan Herbert.

Jordan added 22 on eight-of-11 shooting.

Olivia McWilliams scored 11 points.

The Sugar Bears shot 52 percent from the field and held a 20-6 advantage on second-chance points.

UCA continues its Texas road swing Saturday against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
