Two connected with the University of Central Arkansas who are battling breast cancer, Milisa Moore and Julie King, will be presented with honorary “Battlin’ Bears” awards at University of Central Arkansas volleyball match Saturday against Oral Roberts.

The women and their families will be presented with the award after the second set of the match at the Prince Center. The award is a result of a partnership between the University of Central Arkansas volleyball team and Sears of Conway.

The match will begin at 5 p.m.

At each home match throughout the season and during the basketball season, UCA and Sears will honor a UCA professor or local teacher for their work in the classroom.

Hendrix College senior Andres Ramirez has been named the Southern Athletic Association Cross Country Male Runner of the Week.

The Dallas, Texas native captured first place at the Mississippi College Watson Ford Invitational with a season-best 8K time of 27:09.54. His performance helped the Warriors win the meet, the program’s first win against full competition since joining NCAA Division III. The mark was his best on the Choctaw Trails, a difficult course, and under warm conditions.
