RUSSELLVILLE — Conway’s volleyball team opened conference play Thursday night with a straight-set victory over Russellville.
The Lady Cats (5-1) downed the Lady Cyclones, 25-19, 25-23, 25-16.
Matisse Monty had 14 kills while Alexa Hreha had three aces. Jada Benton and McCall Wilkins had two blocks while Bailey McKee had 38 assists. Abby Mann added 17 digs.
Conway (4-0) won the JV game 23-25, 25-11, 15-13. Courtney Campbell and Madison McNew had eight kills each. Allison Weatherly had one block. Sara Netercutt had 22 assists and two aces. Sarah Thomas added two aces. Jacklyn Quinit had 14 digs.
The Lady Cats will host Little Rock Hall on Thursday night.
Conway Christian won their home conference volleyball opener Thursday night, 25-11, 25-4, 25-6 over Nemo Vista.
Emily Hill had two aces, seven digs and one kill for the Lady Eagles. Payton Cope had seven aces and 16 assists. Olivia Meriweather added three aces and 11 kills. Other ace and kill leaders were Morgan May, Andrea Howell, Jordan Williams and Marissa Payne. Hannah Cates had two assists. Landry May had seven aces and one assist.
“I was very happy with the way our girls played for our first home conference game,” said coach Sarah Feimster. “We have a few days to get ready for our first big test in conference play Tuesday at Harding Academy.”

The Warriors lost to Hardin-Simmons 25-21, 25-19, 25-19 in the opener, then fell to UT Dal
