Making a quick turnaround turned out to be problematic for basketball teams from Guy-Perkins and St. Joseph in state basketball tournaments Tuesday.
Both the Lady Thunderbirds and the Bulldogs were eliminated in games at two different sites.
At Marmaduke, Bearden, the fourth-place team from 2A-4 South defeated St. Joseph, 75-63, to end the Bulldogs' season at 31-3. St. Joseph had played 24 hours earlier across the state at Magazine in winning the West Regional title.
Weiner, the champion of Class A Region 2, defeated Guy-Perkins, the fourth-place team from Region 3, 58-52, in the opening round at Bradley.
