GREERS FERRY — Concord, the 2A-South champion, ended the season for Guy-Perkins' boys with an 87-58 victory Wednesday night in the first round of the Class A Region 3 tournament at West Side's Eagle gymnasium.
The Pirates led 25-12 after a quarter but the Thunderbirds narrowed the deficit to 30-29 late in the second quarter. Concord went on a late run to lead 41-33 at the half, then quickly got the lead in double digits the second half.
Haden Long led the T-Birds, the fourth seed from 5A-North, 14 points.

The LC has not cared about the kids that play sports in their own county until their last game. Question? How many times has the LC even mentioned anything about any of the Guy Perkins games this past season? If we have trouble at our school, the LC is all over it or you have a reporter trying to get into our website so she can get some gossip.. Pretty sad excuse for a "news" paper..but my dog does use it for something..thanks for finally posting on our boys "last" game..
