Girl shot in aftermath of MLK "Marade"

KATV — Little Rock Police say an 18-year-old female was shot shortly after the "Marade" in downtown Little Rock had ended.

Witnesses told police that a group of girls were fighting in an alley near 18th and Battery Streets when two vehicles pulled up. Two groups of guys started shooting at each other at opposite ends of the alley and the teenager was shot by mistake, according to police.

The girl was shot in the elbow and the stomach and taken to the hospital.

The marade is an annual parade honoring the late Dr. Martin Luther King Junior.
