BUCKY

Guess you met Cindy….did she tell you her ear story? Let me just say it was the most ridiculous thing ever…I told her it wouldn’t work…glue taste like dirt by the way….and the duct tape? First of all she wouldn’t be still for me to get it straight and then next thing I know my tail is taped to her ear…now tell me how that happens? I’m Bucky a neutered male Lab mix, litter mate to Cindy and I weigh 22 lbs. Yes we like to chew on each other and if you heard us play…you would think someone was hurt…we have a good time. Like my litter mate, I’m pretty good on a leash and don’t let the tape incident fool you…I’m pretty smart too! I’m available now!
Adopting a dog from the Conway Animal Welfare Unit is a fairly easy process. The first step to adopting an animal is submitting an application. The application allows us to individually consider applicants and helps us to properly match our pets with new owners. We want to make sure that our pets are going to homes that are ready to provide for these pets long-term. Adoptions are $50 and this includes vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip. As with any shelter animal, health is not guaranteed but we do our best to screen out those animals that are showing obvious signs of illness or disclose that information prior to adoption. All dogs are heartworm tested upon adoption.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and you reside OUTSIDE the city limits of Conway and the dog is less than 12 wks old, the cost is $75 which includes a spay/neuter and micropchip. The spay and neuter can only be performed at Vilonia Vet Clinic or Companion Animal Spay/Neuter Clinic. If the animal is less that 12 wks and you live inside the city limits the adoption fee is $25 dollars and you receive a voucher for $120 to use at select clinics for spay/neuter. The other option is that you provide us with proof of a pre-paid spay or neuter at YOUR vet of choice.

PUMPKIN

Well there had to be a first…..so I took one for the team….just wait….soon they will be naming them Cinnamon, Fudge and lets not forget about the reindeer…glad I missed that….so Pumpkin it is….was it the color or what? I’m a spayed female Pit/Terrier mix, I’m about 1 yr old and I weigh 36 lbs. So I don’t think I had this picture thing down very good…they kept standing me up and I just kept collapsing to the ground. I’m a little shy and to be honest…that thing they put around your neck and walk around…the other dogs seem to like it but not me….I prefer to be carried….so needless to say I need a little work on a leash. I have a sweet disposition I just need a little time to settle in to my surroundings. I’m available now!

JOJO

Boy do I have a story….check this out..oh wait…my name is Jojo and I am a neutered male Poodle mix, I weigh 9 lbs ..my owner surrendered me about a month ago….so your probably wondering why I’m just now getting posted and why on earth am I still HERE????????? Well….ya see what had happened wuz….I was matted pretty bad and I’m not gonna lie…mad at the world…I’ll never forget the nice lady that came in my kennel…I think she works here…well…I wasn’t having that…so with ninja like precision I jumped from my bed and chased her out…HA…got my bluff in…job well done. Well turns out she’s pretty persistent..giving me treats…yep nope not working. Next thing I know I get a little stick in the…well you know…man I slept good that afternoon and when I woke up I smelled like some fancy cologne and my hair…was gone….I forgot how it felt to waller on blankets next to my skin…I was free…well I decided maybe this wasn’t so bad after all. So I’ve graduate to a kennel that says be gentle with me…truth is I just need someone to call my own….once I know you all you need to do is come to my level and I will crawl in your lap and your mine forever. I really want to find a home but you must be willing to go at my pace and take some time to visit me before taking me home. Oh and did I mention I dance on my hind legs….so there’s that…..signed….”Love JoJo”
