Dozens of parents sat in the waiting area at Blackbird Academy of Arts, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to "artistic endeavors," while their children practiced ballet, singing and jazz dance Wednesday afternoon. Inside several rooms at the academy, instructors taught poses and expression through dance and music to children as young as 5.
