Mike Neighbors expected to be new UA women's coach

DALLAS (AP) — A person familiar with the situation says Washington coach Mike Neighbors has been hired as the women's basketball coach at Arkansas.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press on Monday because no announcement has been made.

Neighbors succeeds Jimmy Dykes, who was let go by the school last month. He joins an Arkansas team that was 13-17 this season.

Neighbors took over at Washington in 2013 and guided the Huskies to their first Final Four last year. He is an Arkansas native having formerly served as an assistant at the UA and has coached at Bentonville and Cabot.
