Little Rock Zoo welcomes 2 new baby penguins

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Little Rock Zoo is home to two new baby penguins.

The zoo said Wednesday that the baby penguins are the eighth and ninth hatchlings since the zoo opened its African penguin exhibit in 2011. The zoo says one chick, named Shelly, hatched early and has been hand-raised by zookeepers, who fed the penguin fish formula.

The zoo says the second chick hatched Sept. 8. The second penguin is a male and has not yet been named.

The zoo says both chicks are in good health and will join the zoo's penguin exhibit soon.
