Third annual Every Soul Matters 5K and Kids' Run set for Sept. 13

Posted: August 4, 2014 - 11:34am

The Vilonia First Assembly of God, along with Red River Dodge, will be hosting the third annual Every Soul Matters 5K and Little Souls Matter Kids’ Runs Sept. 13 at 8 a.m. at the Vilonia First Assembly of God, 851 Highway 64 E.

“The race keeps growing each year,” said church member Wednesday Hoover. “Last year, there were at least 18 different communities represented.”

The proceeds from this year’s race will benefit residents “who need a helping hand to get back on track.”

“The Vilonia First Assembly is committed to helping our community members rebuild and restore their lives,” Hoover said. “As a result of our involvement in the community, we have found that there are still many unmet needs, some related to the disaster (April 27 tornado) but others due to various circumstances.”

In addition to runners, businesses may also participate with advertising and promotional opportunities as a race sponsor, with benefits such as having the business name or logo on the race T-shirts, banners hung at the race or vendor booths.

The deadline for sponsorship is Saturday, Aug. 23 to be included in the promotional aspect. For more information go to www.facebook.com/EverySoulMatters5K, contact Bethany Taff at (479) 970-6076 or email begtaff@gmail.com.
