Sports roundup: St. Joseph, Greenbrier, Mayflower and Ruth Doyle

Faulkner County basketball teams did not fare well in the early rounds of the Joe Mallett Classic at St. Joseph.

 

Tuesday night, the host team lost tight games to Shirley.

In the boys game, the Blue Devils defeated the Bulldogs, 57-43. Shirley won the girls game, 42-39.

In other games, Fountain Lake downed the Guy-Perkins boys, 66-63 and the Lady Thunderbirds, 51-42. Perryville defeated Mayflower’s girls, 55-48.

Greenbrier

Bryant defeated Greenbrier in two senior games Tuesday night.

The Lady Hornets won the girls game, 48-40.

Hannah Donham had 14 points for Greenbrier. Makayla Seyller and Breleigh Simmons added seven each.

Bryant won the boys game, 61-38.

Mayflower junior girls

Mayflower’s junior girls (2-3) opened conference play Tuesday with a 35-9 victory over Bauxite at Bauxite.

Mason Otts led Mayflower with 11 points.

Ruth Doyle girls

Ruth Doyle Middle School girls defeated Russellville Black, 29-9.

Silondra Ingraham ledwith 12 points. Kamille Brown added six with six rebounds, and 10 steals.

The B game ended in a 6-6 tie with Sa’Myah Duhart having four rebounds and Neveah Raper with two steals.
