Two more scrimmages to have big impact on Bears

The University of Central Arkansas football team has two major scrimmages remaining.

 

The first is a major evaluation for the depth chart. The next is the focal point of a major showcase to preview the athletic season.

The Bears will hold their second scrimmage at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.

On Saturday, Aug. 19th, will be Meet the Bears Day. Fans will have the chance to meet the 2017 Central Arkansas football team, Sugar Bear volleyball team, the men’s and women’s soccer teams and the cheerleading and dance teams.

The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Estes Stadium and will coincide with the Bears’ third football scrimmage while leading into the Sugar Bear volleyball alumni match at noon in the Prince Center.

Fans can meet and receive autographs from their favorite players and coaches and pick up the 2017 team poster schedules. They will also have the opportunity for face painting with cheer and dance, and pictures with Bruce D. Bear.

The UCA ticket office will be on hand to distribute season tickets as well as sell season and single-game tickets.

Fans will also have the opportunity to sign up for the 2017-2018 Hiland Dairy Kidz Club.

Aug. 19 schedule

9:30 to 11:30 a.m. – football scrimmage on First Security Field

9:30 am to noon – pick up season tickets or buy tickets

9:30 to 10:30 a.m. – meet the cheer and dance teams

10 to 10:30 a.m. – autograph session with the volleyball team

10:30 to 11:15 a.m. – autograph session with the soccer teams

11:30 to noon – autograph session with the football team

Noon – Alumni volleyball match in Prince Center

All meet-and-greet sessions on concourse on the west side of Estes Stadium
