Conway girls win Mountain Home tourney

Led by medalist Casey Ott, the Conway girls golf team won the Ultimate Ford Tournament last weekend at the Big Creek Golf and Country Club at Mountain Home.

 

Ott fired a 67-76-143 over two days to win at 1-under. The Lady Cats’ Sydney Stiener was third overall at 77-71-148.

The CHS girls finished at 499. Greenwood was second at 535.

Other scores for the CHS girls were: Sammy Stiener, 105-98-203 and Sarah Raycher, 122-120-242.

The Conway boys (617) finished third behind North Little Rock (587) and Jonesboro (606).

Jon Jackson led the Cats with a 72-77-149. Davis Zimmerman came in at 84-78-162. Blake Brindley fired a 79-76-155. Will Rose fired a 72-85-157. Jackson Goodwin came in at 83-82-165.

UCA’s Anderson SLC’s Student-Athlete of the Year

University of Central Arkansas junior volleyball player Samantha Anderson has been named the Southern Conference’s Student-Athlete of the Year, while senior Megan Nash earned First Team all-conference honors and sophomore Elizabeth Armstrong was named to the Second Team.
