Supreme Court denies Maggio’s petition

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday denied a former Faulkner County circuit judge’s petition to review his bribery conviction.

Former Circuit Judge Michael Maggio asked the country’s highest court for the review after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in July denied the request.

On Oct. 2, Attorney John Wesley Hall of Little Rock filed a “petition for a writ of certiorari and motion for leave to proceed in forma pauperis,” according to court documents.

The petition was distributed for conference on Friday and denied on Monday, the documents state.

The documents provided no comments on why it was denied.
