Two in a row for Conway volleyball

Sara Nethercutt had 41 assists and 19 digs Thursday in helping Conway’s volleyball team open the season at 2-0 with a 28-26, 23-25, 25-21, 25-13 victory over Benton.

MackenzieDear added 14 kills and 20 digs. Allison Weatherly had 12 kills and four blocks.

Conway’s JV also went to 2-0 with a 25-12, 25-11 win.

Kensi Chenoweth had seven kills and McKinsie Shaw four. Sydney Trickett had two aces, Payton Lindsey, 1- digs and Tori Popham, eight digs.

CONWAY GOLF

HOT SPRINGS — Hot Springs Lakesdie’s boys combined for a 292 Thursday to win a dual golf match against Conway (302) at Hot Springs Country Club.

Jett Tolliver led CHS at 73, followed by Carter Cloe, 74; Whit Parker, 75; Michael Tate, 80; Jackson Goodwin,83. Other scores were Grayson McEowen, 83; Clay Bradshaw, 81; and Dylan Smith 88.

Casey Ott fired a 78 and Jett Tolliver an 81 to lead the CHS girls to victory, 254-298. Alexis McDaniel had a 95, Meghan Smith a 98 and Whitney Hill, 107.

Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports regional tournaments begin April 28

JACKSONVILLE – Student athletes from across Arkansas will gather at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex in Jacksonville each weekend, beginning April 28, to take their shots at the regional and state championship tournaments of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program.
