Officials with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office found the body of a black male Friday on Waterfront Cove near Lake Conway who had been shot.

The unidentified man died after being transported from the site.

According to Matt Rice of the FCSO, the man was found with a gunshot wound, and he was transferred by MedFlight to a hospital. At the time he was taken from the scene, he was still alive.

Rice said the man was not identified, and investigators  continued to work on the scene Friday night and Saturday morning.

Rice said if anyone has any information about the incident, call the Sheriff's office at 450-4914.

Man or body?

If the victim was still alive when they found him, then didn't the FCSO actually find a man laying in the road with a gunshot wound?

Regardless, I still believe there is correlation of a rise violent crime in Conway, and Arkansas, to the mass evacuation caused by hurricane Katrina. I wonder is there has ever been a study on it.
