Stoby’s Express closes Friday

Stoby’s Express, located on Prince Street in Conway, Arkansas, will close Friday, Nov. 10, to focus on the Donaghey restaurant location, according to owner David Stobaugh.

Since 1980, Stoby’s Restaurant has been an essential icon to the Central Arkansas community. After a fire destroyed the Donaghey location, the Stobaugh’s opened Stoby’s Express on Prince Street as a way to keep their full-time staff employed during the rebuilding process.

“We are so thankful for Stoby’s Express and the role it played in keeping our staff employed after the fire in March of 2016,” Stobaugh said. “I know Stoby’s Express on Prince Street has been very convenient for our many loyal customers in downtown Conway. However, it is less than a mile between the two locations, and now that Donaghey has reopened, it is no longer practical to keep both locations open. Words cannot express how much we appreciate the community’s support during our rebuilding process.”

The primary location on Donaghey Avenue reopened in August with 148 seats, which more than doubles the original restaurant’s 64-seat layout and includes a pet-friendly patio.
