Mayflower Parade set for Saturday

The City of Mayflower’s 17th annual Christmas in the Park community parade will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Mayflower School District Superintendent John Gray, who organized the parade this year, said he anticipates a bigger and better parade this year.

“We have a Grand Marshal this year, Mayor Randy Holland, who will be in a horse and carriage, fire engines, each school will have a float, local businesses, like Harps and Sonic will participate in floats, as well as school clubs and some local biker clubs,” he said.

The parade will be led by the school band, followed by the football team.

“We are looking forward to it; the school is looking forward to it and we will be enjoying it with the rest of the community,” Gray said.

All bikes and floats need to arrive at the high school parking lot before 10 a.m. The parade will go from the high school to the FS Pearce Park Pavilion.

Centennial Bank and Sonic will provide food.

Alternate date for inclement weather will be Dec. 9.
