City and county offices, except emergency personnel, will close Friday in observance of Veterans Day, officials said.
Conway’s Department of Sanitation’s office, landfill, recycling center and reuse center will be closed Friday as well, Recycling Coordinator Alicia Neppl said in a news release.
The landfill will open for normal business hours on at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
“Commercial trash, residential trash and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled,” Neppl said. “Glass collection will be temporarily suspended, but will resume the following week trash cart and yard waste should be placed at your curb by 7 a.m.”

The county courthouse will be closed, so there will be no early voting in the city’s special election for the proposed street improvement tax on Friday. Early voting will resume Monday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day because it is the anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I in 1918, is Nov.11, which this year falls on a Saturday.
