Update: Power outages reported in Conway

Conway Corporation crews are on scene at the west substation after a bird damaged two transformers this afternoon. Crews were able to successfully repair the first transformer, restoring power to some.

Insulators were damaged on the second transformer and must be replaced before it can be brought back online. Crews estimate repair time at two hours.

Numerous power outages have been reported in Conway in the area of College Avenue and Farris Road. Street lights have been reported out in that area.

Dispatchers with the Conway Fire Department are reporting people trapped in an elevator in a retirement community in the area.
