Deaths being investigated as murder/suicide

The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the two people who died in a double shooting Monday morning.

The deaths of Stephanie Hermes, 32, and Kevin Battle, 50, are now being investigated as a murder/suicide, according to the sheriff's office. Investigators have learned the two were in a previous relationship.

Sheriff Deputies were called to 235 Highway 36 Monday morning at approximately 10 a.m. When deputies arrived, Battle was deceased, and Hermes had a gunshot wound to the head. Hermes was in serious condition and flown by helicopter to UAMS. She died around 1:15 p.m.
