Detectives still looking for clues in back-to-back homicides

Faulkner County’s first two homicides of the year happened this month, and the Conway Police Department and Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help in developing leads.

Just past midnight on June 17, Francesco Trujillo, a 42-year-old husband and father of two, was shot and killed on the porch of his Conway home. Then, on the evening of June 20, a passer-by found 34-year-old Jermaine Lamont Harris/Tyus dying by the side of Waterfront Cove in the north Lake Conway area. He was taken by helicopter to UAMS, where he died from a gunshot to the back of the head.

CPD and FCSO haven’t released details on the investigations, other than to say their detectives continue to interview people and chase down leads.

“Our detectives have been working on this since the day it happened,” CPD Public Information Officer La Tresha Woodruff said. “They were out again today interviewing people and following up on interviews, and they will continue to devote a lot of time to it until they determine who is responsible and why it happened.”

Matt Rice, FCSO Chief Deputy, said that his detectives were also interviewing people and following leads.

Anyone with information in the Trujillo homicide is urged to contact CPD at (501) 450-6120 or you can text an anonymous tip to CRIMES (274637) and enter the keyword Conway plus your tip. Anyone with information in the Harris/Tyus homicide is urged to call FCSO at (501) 450-4914.
