The 2014 Centerville School Reunion will be held at Centerville United Methodist Church, which is eight miles northeast of Greenbrier. This church, adjoining the old school grounds, stands near three of the old school buildings — the home economics building, the pump house, and the storm house.
Activities will get underway at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 28, and follow the same time frame and format of previous reunions. Lunch will be provided by the Church.
As in the past, there will be little in the way of a formal program. Participants will be recognized and asked to relate their memories of this educational institution which saw its last classes in 1951.
Plans are being made for representatives of the Faulkner County Museum to attend the reunion and to record some of the stories and insights of former students. With a few alumni very near the century mark, and many (perhaps most) past fourscore, there are interesting accounts to be preserved.
