The Keet family tradition continues when two brothers follow in their father’s footsteps, being recognized for successful franchise ownership 32 years after their father.
Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, a fast-casual Mediterranean food-inspired chain launched in 1998, recently held its annual Franchisee Conference.
The conference announced growth opportunities, and awards were distributed to owners. Taziki’s first Founders Award was given to Tommy Keet and Jake Keet, owners of JTJ Restaurants, LLC.
JTJ Restaurants, LLC opened its first Taziki’s in Little Rock on Cantrell Road in 2008. They currently own and operate five restaurants in Arkansas, including two in Little Rock, and one each in Conway, Fayetteville and Bentonville. The Keet’s also plan to open their sixth location in McCain Mall in North Little Rock this fall.
Their team was recognized for demonstrating pride in the brand, passion for excellence, sales leadership, community and charitable involvement, leadership in the franchise community and crew and management retention.
The Top Sales Achievement for highest gross sales also went to the Keet’s Chenal Creek location in Little Rock.
“We are honored to have been recognized as the first Founders Award Recipients from Taziki’s, and feel especially proud that we have been able to follow in our father’s footsteps,” said Tommy Keet, President of JTJ Restaurants LLC.
“For us to win a founders award 32 years after my father won his has been a fun thing for us to share as a family. My son, four-year-old Holden, will definitely feel some pressure in the coming years to join in the family business,” said Jake Keet, Vice President of JTJ Restaurants LLC.
Tommy and Jake’s father, Jim Keet, and Gerald Hamra brought Wendy’s to Arkansas in 1975. They were awarded the first-ever Wendy’s Founders Award in 1982 and were recognized as the most outstanding Wendy’s franchisee worldwide. At that time there were more than 2,500 Wendy’s restaurants in operation.
”Jake and I are proud to bring the same tradition of excellence to Taziki’s that our father has instilled in us since we opened our first restaurant in 2008,” Tommy said.
