Centennial Bank donates to Conway FBLA

Future Business Leaders of America club of Conway High School competed at the Arkansas State Conference on April 7 and 8 in Little Rock and placed in the following:


1st: Banking and Financial Systems – Kyler Sanson, Josh Watts

2nd: Entrepreneurship – Cody Schichtl, Collie Shaw

2nd: Management Decision Making – Carson Davis, Derek Corder

3rd: Management Information Systems – Kyle Chapman, Daniel Sexton, Michael Walton

The above teams will compete at the National Competition June 27 – July 3 in Nashville, TN.

Centennial Bank donated $1800 to FBLA to assist with their expenses for this competition. This will also give FBLA competitors the opportunity to attend workshops, go to opening and closing general sessions, visit vendors at the exhibition area, and network with other BLA members from around the country. It creates an opportunity for members to meet other students, network future goals, and discuss college expectations.


Freshman Academy partners with UALR for concurrent credit

The Vilonia Board of Education, at the May meeting, gave the nod of approval to enter a partnership with the University of Arkansas Little Rock providing incoming ninth graders, entering the Freshman Academy, an opportunity to earn concurrent college credit and ultimately graduate high school with an associate’s degree.
