Running fast and cashing in

Educators Karen Vandivere, Heather Kendrick, Mallory Lefler, Amanda Castillo and fun run participants present their winnings.

St. Joseph School received a check for $700 from the Conway Regional Fitness Center on May 14 for its participation in the Sixth Annual Kids Run Arkansas. It’s a one-mile and three-mile fun run/walk for kids of all ages in Arkansas. The local run took place April 18 at Laurel Park. Participants chose either the one or three-mile route and families were encouraged to participate. St. Joseph students in grades K-6 took part. The top three schools with the highest percentage of registrants were to be awarded funds to be used for their physical education programs. St. Joseph had the most with 56 percent participation. This is the fourth year in a row St. Joseph has had this honor.
