Church Corner May 7

Holland Baptist Church

Exciting things are happening at Holland Baptist under the leadership of Brother Chad Brandon. Several senior adults enjoyed Spring Time Jubilee in Branson in April. Jerry and Krista Kay Mauldin always do a super job making our reservations and getting us to our destination. The preaching and singing were outstanding and the comedy was hilarious. The fun and laughter was good medicine for everyone in the group.

While we’re away, the youth and children, under the leadership of Betsy Petty, had a great night of activities relating to the resurrection. Delores Haynes, Julie Lustre, and Rachelle Gilson, helped lead the activities. Eleven of our youth took part D-Now weekend at Cold Springs Camp. They had an awesome time! We’re rejoicing in the news that two of our youth accepted Christ as their Savior! A big thanks goes to TeJohn and Betsy Petty for the work they’re doing with that group.

Homecoming was held Sunday, May 4. Worship began at 11 a.m. Bro. Larry White, Director of Missions for FBA, delivered the morning message. Sarah Haggard was to attend and share a “few” thoughts. She is 90 plus years of age! We always enjoy hearing from her. Potluck lunch followed with a time of fellowshipping. A concert by the Mercy River Boys was held at 2 p.m. There was no evening service.

We will be filling baby bottles for the Life Choices ministry May 11 through June 8. We hope to have a good response to this worthy cause.

We’ve tried to respond to the needs of those effected by the tornado. Church members have family that suffered great loss. Many have contributed time, money, love, and have prayed. We continue to pray for those who’ve lost so much and for those coordinating and helping with the clean-up.

TeJohn is working out details for a men’s camping trip June 5. This should be a good time to bond, relax, and just get away from the busyness of life.

VBS is scheduled for June 16-20. We always need workers. Contact Kelli Martin if you can help.

Our prayer list is long. We want to praise and thank God for the evidence of His power, love, mercy, and grace. We see Him at work in our lives daily!
