San Antonio Shoemakers bringing 3,000 pairs of shoes to tornado survivors

Posted: April 30, 2014 - 2:21pm

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — San Antonio Shoemakers (SAS), the Texas-based shoe manufacturer specializing in quality, handcrafted comfort shoes, is heading to Conway to deliver, fit and distribute 3,000 pairs of shoes to those area-residents who have been affected by this week’s devastating tornado.

SAS delivery trucks will be loading up with new, American-made men’s and women’s shoes as well as SAS factory, retail, wholesale and management personnel to make the journey to deliver shoes to those in need.

Each person receiving a pair of SAS comfort shoes at the distribution event will be personally fitted by an SAS employee, to ensure that they receive the appropriate style and size for their foot shape and support needs.

“People who have been affected by disaster situations often have to spend hours, days and even weeks on their feet, and we know that a pair of our shoes can help them to keep moving through these trying times,” said SAS CEO Nancy Richardson.

The shoes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Oak Bowery Baptist Church on Otto Road.
