Two killed, one injured when vehicle tries to pass traffic on 365

Two Conway residents were killed and one was injured Wednesday in a two-vehicle accident at Highway 365 and Plantation Drive/River Road, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary crash report. 

The collision occurred at 6:28 p.m. 

Killed were Joe Lasker, 62, 17 Royal Lane, and Daniel Southard, 35, 333 Old Military Road. 

Injured was one of the vehicle’s drivers, Mary Lasker, 65, sharing Joe Lasker’s address.

Southard was driving northbound on HWY 365 when Mary Lasker attempted to pass traffic as she was traveling in the southbound lane. 

According to the report, Mary Lasker drove a 2009 Pontiac Vibe into the northbound lane, striking the front of Southard’s vehicle, a 2005 Buick LeSabre.
